Programs For The Lowcountry

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is a free service that assiststhousands of low-to-moderate income individuals earning up to $60,000 in annual income in preparing their taxes and qualifying for Earned Income Tax credits.

The First-Time Home Buyers Program provides information designed to educate potential first-time homebuyers about what the requirements are in order to purchase a home. The workshop covers credit, budgeting, managing income, how to bid on a house and what it takes to become successful homeowners.

The CTUL Fair Housing Counseling Agency works in collaboration with the City of Charleston and the City of North Charleston to address fair housing infractions, unequal treatment by landlords and lack of access to the financial main stream by minorities and other protected classes of people.

The Emergency Shelter Grant Program (ESG) prevents individuals and families from becoming homeless by providing rental assistance to qualified individuals or families in emergency or crisis.

The Youth Leadership Development Institute (YLDI) offers a program designed to provide academic enrichment and civic engagement tools so that young people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Center for Workforce Development offers programming designed to help the unemployed and under-employed obtain employment and increase their marketable skills in order to successfully enter the workforce.

The CTUL’s  partnership with Life Enhancement Services (LES), a nationally accredited provider of quality outpatient rehabilitative behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults, allows us to offer the whole family support withmental health needs.
