OUR HISTORY
More Than Three Decades Serving Charleston
The Charleston Area Urban League was established to confront racial inequities and expand opportunity for historically underserved communities. Rooted in a legacy of advocacy and service, the Charleston Area Urban League has worked to address systemic barriers through education, workforce development, community engagement, equal access to housing, building assets and generational wealth.
Over time, the organization has grown into a trusted leader in advancing equity, building partnerships, and creating pathways for economic empowerment.
Today, the Charleston Area Urban League continues its commitment to fostering inclusion and strengthening the community by helping individuals and families achieve stability, opportunity, and long-term success.
